Bottle at level 42. It pours jet black with a medium tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, charred wood, meaty, soy sauce, Asian cooking, rich coffee action, nougat, rocky road and big vanilla. The taste is dry, rich roasted malt, charred wood, meaty, umami, dark chocolate, ashy, rocky road, vanilla, spicy, peppery action and some boost with a dry, charry finish. Full body and moderate carbonation. A bit more savoury than I was expecting. Rich.

Bottle split at L42, thanks to Kenny, 14/03/17. Pitch black topped with a dirty tan cap. Nose is chocolate, vanilla, peanut butter, light roast, sweet notes, toffee. Taste comprises chocolate, vanilla, light coffee notes, toffee fudge, spice, light roast, chocolate, nutty rinse. Full bodied, fine carbonation, boosty warming close. Decent enough impy if a touch sweet.

Tap @ Mig & Ølsnedkeren, 11%. Black with big dark brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, espresso, caramel, vanilla and cocoa. Flavour is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, espresso, vanilla, sweet, liquorice, hop and medium bitter.

Bottle shared thanks to sjogro. Black with very big dark beige head. Lots of coffee, roasted malts, vanilla, pecan, dark chocolate, honey. Like pecan coffee treats! Quite sweet but balanced by over medium coffee bitterness. Over medium bodied but with watery feel.

Keg at the bottle shop druid Street. A jet black coloured pour with a lasting mid tan creamy head. Aroma is salty roast, pecan, oak and bitter black malts,. Flavour is composed of full creamy coffee, milky roast, liquorice, blackened sugars, treacle. Ashy bitter roast finish. Palate is full, creamy, moderate carbonation, rounded. Lingering big bitter roast finish.

Sampled from the tap at Red Cow North Loop. Pours black with a dark chocolate brown head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has a strong coffee note supported by bitter dark grains and roasted malts. Flavor has strong dark grains and bitter coffee with a good amount of roasted malts underlying.
