SNAB introduces S.P.A. in 2000. Our American Pale Ale (APA) was unique in Europe at the time. Inspired by the hoppy and aromatic beers of the American west coast, snab brews a complex beer, rich in aroma and taste, easy to drink and thirst-quenching. The yeast comes from Oregon, the cascade and Amarillo hops from the Yakima Valley in Washington. dry-hopping is used to further refine and emphasize the pronounced hop character.

Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam HAzy orange/blodn body. Creamy, bit rocky head. Aroma of american hops, citrus, flowers, honey, caramel ... very nice. Moderately sweet, lightly bitter flavour (bit watery) which is not as nice as the aroma, but still ok.

(Draught at ’t Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 31 July 2009) Amber colour with frothy, beige head. Fruity, hoppy nose with apricots, toast and fresh hops. Malty, slightly fruity taste with notes of dried apricots, caramel and a rather dry, hoppy finish. Slightly above medium body, generous bitterness. Very tasty beer with a nice hop character.

Draught, Arendsnest, Amsterdam. Looked pretty enticing in the glass , a nice clear orange with a decent head. Some good lace action. Fragrant, hoppy aroma. Flavour was caramel malt, plenty of hop, with some grapefruit. Bitter finish. Seriously drinkable and really enjoyable.

draft at Arendsnest in Amsterdam - Pours lightly hazy copper with a big, foamy head. The aroma is light, citrusy hops. The taste has some easy going malt up front with moderately hops that includes citrus and grass notes. It’s light to medium bodied with gentle carbonation. This brew is very quaffable. Good session brew.

Bottled (CK, BB 12/2010). Different label than in RB. Almost clear amber color, small white head, some lace. Nose is kind of bready-yeasty with citrusy Cascade hops. A bit sweet with caramel malts, yeast, bread, spices with lingering hoppyness and a bit of alcohol in the aftertaste. This is ... ok .. it is brewed to APA-style (sweet one), but somehow it isn’t so balanced.

[33cl bottle] Hazy, amber colour with a big and light-beige foamy head. Aromatic and pretty strong spicy and piney hops aroma with notes of citrus, licorice and nettles. Moderately bitter flavour, medium bodied and a bit fizzy on the tongue. Dry malty base with a good dash of Cascade hops, leading into a dry and bitter finish with licorice and piney hops in the aftertaste. Another pleasant SNAB brew [07.I.09].

From tap at Arendsnest. Pours almost clear orange with a fully diminished white head. Nice citrusy hops aroma ad mild caramel sweetness. Fruity flavour of apples, oranges and citrusy notes wit a nice caramel malt base balancing the hops just enough. Smooth and bitter fruity finish. Nice one.

Bottle: Poured a orange brown with a huge off white head, some lacing. Aroma is hops with some pine and malt. Nice mix of caramel malts and hops, little sweeter than i would have expected.

On tap @ Arendsnest, several times. I love this beer. Golden orange/copper coloured beer, nice white head. Aroma of hops, pine and grapefruit, some malts. Flavour is fantastic, sweet fruits and hop bitterness, grapefruit, malts. Soft mouthfeel, highly drinkable. Since the shortage of American hops it tastes less bitter, making it less good. Still one of my favourites.
