Belgian Stout in the Irish style: light, dry, and freshly bitter with complex roasted notes. The scent is pleasantly fragranced by the presence of an English aromatic hop particularly appreciated by connoisseurs.

Bottle pour into stemless wine glass from Valley Beverage. Appearance is opaque black with trace sparkle, lots of light floaties, finger-width beige foamy head with fair retention and trace lacing. Aroma is earthy, roasted malts and a quality I can only describe as reminiscent of a cross between spicy mozzarella pizza (sage? oregano?) and vomit. Taste is roasted malt and strong European hop earthy bitterness. Moves to some fruit/tart fruit quality as it warms. Palate is full bodied with smooth, thick texture, soft carbonation and very dry finish as taste. Overall, the dry, bitter quality of the European hops carries this into directions that I don't enjoy. If this scent is appreciated by connoisseurs, then I don't want to be one.
