Belgian Stout in the Irish style: light, dry, and freshly bitter with complex roasted notes. The scent is pleasantly fragranced by the presence of an English aromatic hop particularly appreciated by connoisseurs.

Bottle. Brownish black. Not much of a head. Aroma of malts, coffee, chocolate and some hops. Taste is the same plus tobacco and ashes. Tasty ashes I must add. Medium carbonation. Long finish with some hoppy bitternes. Very flavourful despite the rather low abv. Yummy.

From the bottle. Pours dark brown with a creamy, tan head. Aroma is more burnt than anything else. Overall the smell reminded me of an overheated hair dryer and cold, stale coffee. Very subjective as to whether you like that sort of thing in the end. The taste is dominated by the strong roasted notes. Very roasted. Charred malt might be a more apt way of describing it. Aftertaste is bitter black coffee that is a bit on the light side. Finishes lightly bitter. Looking this over now it doesn’t sound all that appealing, but yet I’m enjoying this one. Goes down fairly easy and refreshing for a stout. The taste lacks depth, but remains appealing in its cumbersome, simple sort of way. Interesting.

Apr. ’16. A 0.33 l bottle that poured, I guess, lightly hazy, very typical almost black body with a small brownish head. Fine coffee and chocolate aroma. A bit woody as well. Flavor was lightly bitter, roasted, too with caramel, chocolate, coffee. Medium to full body, creamy on palate. Nice long bitterish roasted finish. Clean, roasted flawless. Great and quite tasty for such a low ABV.
