Milk sugar in your stout is like cream in your coffee. Just enough sweetness to keep the dark roast in check. Rich and robust, our classic Milk Stout exhibits notes of dark chocolate, freshly brewed coffee, caramelized sugar and roasted malt.

4 oz nitro pour at GBD. Black with frothy beige head. Aromas of milk chocolate, creamy notes, caramel. Tastes of chocolate, vanilla, creamy notes. Medium body with a dry finish. Creamy mouthfeel. Much butter on proper nitro compared to the bottled Nitro version, at least from what I remember of having it from the bottle awhile ago.

Bottle from Bottle Shop, Cheadle Hulme [101114]
Pitch black, dense bubbly tan head, good lacing
Aroma of rich dark sweet chocolate, dark malts, dark toffee, very smooth roast, great aroma
Taste of rich smooth dark malts, lots of sweet plain dark chocolate, creamy soft coffee chocolate
Palate - Soft carb, medium body, very smooth, sweet, bit powdery cocoa. Finish as main flavour, sweet dark candy chocolate, some bitter roast
Overall - Lots of chocolate, good flavour initially, but didn’t like it as much with the drinking ... became a bit sickly, too much milk sugar. I’ll certainly try it again though

0,33 l bottle (BB 9/12/14). Clear dark-brown to black with thick, creamy, stable tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee and dark chocolate. Not very intense though. Taste is the same with hints of licorice and hazelnut. Light sweetness. Medium to full body, creamy texture, flat carbonation. Finish is just slightly bitter. Pleasant and easy to drink. Could almost be a session beer!

Bottle at home picked up at Bottledog KingsX. Apparently Left hand have trade marked the name ’Nitro’, in my opinion this is fucking stupid, but let’s try the beer. Clear black coloured pour with some ruby red highlights. Lasting creamy light tan head. Aroma is sweet lactose milky sugars, milky chocolate, some woody and coffee and some vanilla. Flavour is sweet chocolate milk, lactose sugars, yesterday’s coffee, soft roast barley and ash in the finish. Palate is milky, low carbonation, medium bodied. Tasty smooth milk stout.

Bottle. Archer Road Beer Stop, Sheffield. The Nitro version. Poured "cold and hard", as per instruction. Clear, dark chestnut brown. Minimal tan head. Nutty, coffee bean, milk chocolate aroma. Taste is milky sweet. Light cocoa dry. Palate is sickly soft, and a bit thin. Finish is sweet, with a hint of liquorice right at the close.
