Milk sugar in your stout is like cream in your coffee. Just enough sweetness to keep the dark roast in check. Rich and robust, our classic Milk Stout exhibits notes of dark chocolate, freshly brewed coffee, caramelized sugar and roasted malt.

355 ml bottle from bierzwerg.de. Probably 2009 vintage. Dark brown colour with medium, tan head that laces very nicely. Aroma is sweet/milk chocolate, coffee, cappuccino and roasted malts. Nice taste with similar notes and light bitterness. Medium to full bodied with smooth mouthfeel. My bottle seem to have been imported to Sweden for Systembolaget (though I bought it from Germany!), which is kind of funny. This beer was sold at SB until 1 oct 2009, so it’s probably 2009 vintage. Was nicer on tap though.

very smooth, could have a little more flavor and sacrifice some of the palate, but it is still very easy to drink. black, no head, a little aroma, but not powerful, taste is easy creaminess with a hint of milk chocolate, finishes well enough to encourage another sip.

0.355l bottle @ Henrik, Bergen. The mils stout pours a dark brown, near black body with a almost non existing bubbly and nicely lacing head. Cereal nose with weak roasted malts, some milk chocolate and a lightly smoky hint. Quite oily, medium-bodied and decent carbonated. Dark chocolate, and roasted malts. Cold and sweet milky tastes. Impressed that this is only a 5,2 percenter.

ordinary milk stout : clear dark brown, smooth small lighrt brown head. aroma of roasted stuff, lactose ( i think), caramel. flavor is roasted mals, sweet caramel, faint charchoal, well balanced, and with a nice very roasted aftertaste. very nice sweet stout, good flavor. (6,3,7,3,16) LH milk stout nitro : bottle, milk stout nitro on label. pitch dark, smooth brown head, looks really nice and smooth.Roasted malty aroma. This bottle is quite old (2013, sampled 2016), no hops. Flavor is very rounded, roasted malts, milky notes, faint licorice, faint fruity notes. I’d say it has aged quite well, and it seems both more rounded, and perhaps with more milky and fruity nuances than what i’d expect the original to be.

Black pour with a small beige head. Aroma is lactic roast, coffee and dark chocolate. Flavor is sweet, creamy, and reminiscent of oats with mild dark chocolate and roasted barley. Again, a lactic quality prevails. Palate is a bit thin for the style, with low carbonation and a dry roasty finish. Good but not outstanding. I rate just a little bit better then the Wolavers oat meal I drank just before this.
