Milk sugar in your stout is like cream in your coffee. Just enough sweetness to keep the dark roast in check. Rich and robust, our classic Milk Stout exhibits notes of dark chocolate, freshly brewed coffee, caramelized sugar and roasted malt.

Black pour with a small beige head. Aroma is lactic roast, coffee and dark chocolate. Flavor is sweet, creamy, and reminiscent of oats with mild dark chocolate and roasted barley. Again, a lactic quality prevails. Palate is a bit thin for the style, with low carbonation and a dry roasty finish. Good but not outstanding. I rate just a little bit better then the Wolavers oat meal I drank just before this.

On tap at The Taphouse, pours black with a white head. Aroma of light toasted malt and milk. Flavour is very lactose-heavy, with subtle espresso notes. Palate is thick and silky. Very good.

On tap at CPK on 1st November 2010. Dark red with pale brown head. Spicy peppery aroma. Main in-mouth taste is berries, cream, smoke and spice. Lemony tang late, and a rather likeable zing. Short citric and malty finish. Re-rate (and upgrade) March 2012. On tap at the Beer Temple, Amsterdam on 17th March. Thick black with thin pale brown head and partial lacing. Lactic aroma with malt and chocolate notes. Sweet milk chocolate in main taste along with delicate roastie malts. Deep malty finish that satisfies; rich texture.

Felemlegetem a Fürth-től pár éve ajándékba kapott Hair of the Dog Traditional Ale-t (kutyaszőr magunk közt), Inkább édeskésen pörköltes aztán keserűen csokolándis.

This stout poured a deep black colour with a beautiful, tan coloured, creamy head. To the nose there are scents of cream, cocoa, coffee and caramel. First taste was slightly bitter with alot of roasted, black coffee flavour. Slightly light in the bitterness category but a delicious stout non the less.

I had this on nitrogen-pressured draft at the Bad Apple in Chicago while eating dinner with some friends. I’ve had a bottle of this in the past, but like many other beers it’s best enjoyed on draft. Very creamy with an abundance of chocolate, the aroma was not very prevalent but it burst with sweet flavors in taste. Really good stuff, like a much creamier Guinness with a better chocolate profile.

Bottle. Pours a dark, reddish brown with a thick, creamy beige head. Malty aroma with some roast and light fruits. Flavor is sweet with chocolate and coffee notes, along with lactic sugars and a light bitterness. Light to medium in body with average carbonation and a smooth mouthfeel. Finishes sweet and roasty. Excellent.

Almost black beer with medium and beige head. Aroma is strongly roasted, chocolate, some coffee and sourness. Flavour is pleasant and balanced, roastiness, chocolate and sweetness, hint of liquirice. Nice to drink, smooth and easy. Pleasant, easy, but tastefull stout.
