Donzoko means rock bottom. Our yearly Doppelbock release is a rich, decadent dark lager. Complex malt and herbal German hops play off each other, best served on a proper cold day.

18/5/2019. Bottle from CentrAle, Newcastle shared at the Warsaw GP beer share. Pours dark brown with a small off-white to beige head. Aroma of prunes, dates, raisins, toffee, molasses, malt and biscuit. Moderate sweetness and bitterness with a tart edge. Medium to full body, oily texture, average to soft carbonation. Light tart fruity finish with a big slice of Christmas cake. Enjoyable.

500ml bottle from Hop Knocker, Durham. Wax sealed with a wick to pull the seal off for opening. Pours dark brown in colour with a beige foam head that diminishes to a thin layer and aroma of roast malt, dark fruity & dried fruit. Taste is sweetish, roasted malty, toffee, dark fruity, raisins, tobacco, leather, some chocolate and spicy earthy bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry fruity finish. Nicely drinkable.
