330ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours clear dark brown, long-lasting off-white head. Nutty aromas - hazelnuts and almonds, toast too. Touch of icing sugar. Taste is nutty, brown malt, demerara sugar Quite sweet, but seems to hold together with a light herbal bitterness. Nice.

Pours hazy dark red-brown with a tan head. The aroma contains (red) fruits, caramel, chocolate and licorice. It tastes medium caramelly sweet, light fruity sour and light spicy bitter. Sweetish, dry, herbal finish. Medium body, creamy texture, fizzy carbonation. An enjoyable Abbey beer. (Edited 30/10/17)

Refrigerated 11.2 brown squat bottle, best by date, July 14, 2014, poured into a Trappist glass. Pours clear medium brown with medium off-white head. Aroma is dark fruit, medium body, medium carbonation, and some small bubble lacing. Taste is sweet dark candy sugar, molasses, some dark fruit, and hints of chocolate. A little too sweet and more dark fruit would be better.
