Westmalle Extra is the table beer served to the monks and their guests and is brewed with water, barley malt and hop cones. The Westmalle Dubbel and Tripel yeast is also used for this beer. Westmalle Extra is also top-fermented but it is considerably lighter, at 4.8%, alcohol-by-volume than its brother brews. It has the characteristic Westmalle aroma with hops coming through in the finish. It is a real thirst-quencher.

Bottle from LDW, Eke. Hazy yellow colour, white creamy foam. Yeasty, citrus, bitter. Dry and grassy. Nice and drinkable. Rather lively carbonation.

Pours hazy light orange from the bottle and leaves a white, foamy head. Aroma is a bit bready, clean, kind of soapy, light spice, but overall very subdued. Taste is dry, mildly bitter, increasingly peppery on the swill and the finish. Overall the range here of flavor here is on the subtle side; it may not be entirely unfair to describe it as empty, but not every beer should aim at sensory overload. This is a light-bodied, refreshing brew aimed at every day consumption. Okay, but probably not one I would buy again.

Champagne of beers. Drinks like Louis Roederer 2004. Got to be fresh. Not at Ebenezer's. Sad face. Goes great with aged gouda.

330 ml bottle from Etre Gourmet.
Pale yellow, moderate hazy body, with a big, fluffy, white head.
Aroma of yeast, bread, grass, lemongrass, flowers, apples, spices, some dried fruits.
Taste is spicy and dry, with yeast, flowers, bread, grass, hay, citrus, some apples.
Medium, slick mouthfeel, with a lively carbonation.
Finishes spicy, dry, yeasty, floral, bready, grassy, citric.
Nice, but nothing special. A typical Belgian ale, with lots of yeasty and spicy notes. Actually the spices are a bit too dominant for my taste. Otherwise still a fully aromatic and refreshing beer.

Dobre piwo z niewielka pianka, jaskrawym i metnym kolorze. Smak bardzo kwaskowy, cytryna, a zwlaszcza limonka. Wytrawne lekkie i orzezwiajace. Smaczne i nietypowe jak na przyzwyczajenie smakowe Belgii. Polecam bo to prawdziwe i uczciwe piwo
