It took a pretty long time for First Chop to produce a lager, six years in fact. There was a very good reason, when we did produce a lager we wanted to do it right. This year we are launching - slowly - our Helles and our Pilsner - imaginatively named FC HELLES and FC PILSNER. They are both classic examples of each style - nothing too clever - weve taken the very best malt, hops and yeast and brewed it the proper way, bottom fermented with a long maturation. This has produced two very clean, well balanced easy to drink lagers that we are very proud of. And we think they are well worth the six year wait!! Oh and they are both gluten free to boot!

Lattina. Il naso riconosce segni di orzo. L'intensità olfattiva è normale e il modo in cui permane è sufficiente. Il mantello birroso superiore è caratterizzato da una schiuma dalla buona tenuta. La grandezza delle bollicine è a grana media. Il liquido è di apparenza velata. Il colore è giallo dorato. Il corpo è medio. L'amaro è nella media. La forza gustativa è normale e si prolunga in modo appena percepibile. Le sensazioni boccali finali risultano di facile beva. Il finale è semplice e dissetante. Il retrogusto è di media intensità. Sul palato si fermano note di miele, erbaceo, erbe aromatiche, pasta, cortile e metallo.

Pilsners really just don't float my boat so I'm never sure how harsh I'm being. This one doesn't have any nasties and it has a decent bready, maltiness to it up front before it becomes just another refreshing but unmemorable pils.

440ml can from Eebria. Yellow gold colour, foamy white head leaving lacing and grainy aroma. Taste is sweet, malt, grain, straw, with fruity bitterness. Light bodied, soft to medium carbonation, semi-dry grainy bitter finish. OK.
