Cask at Bird in Hand, Stafford. Pours golden yellow with a small foamy off-white head and good lacing. There’s citrus and malts in the aroma plus some traces of lemon. In the mouth it is quite sweet with a creamy texture. Flavour is mainly citrus and corn with hints of lime and lemon tartness. Some floral hints and biscuits come through later. Finish is dry and a little sticky. This is pleasant and refreshing but just a little too much citrus for me.

Cask at the brewery tap. On as a Golden Ale but described on pump clip as a Citrus Pale Ale so have amended style as per brewer's intent. Clear gold which positively gkeams. Frothy foamy white head. Aroma is low key - light citrus and malta. Flavourwise it's not overly citrusy. More of a squirm of citrus combined witb quinine over a biscuity base. Light-medium bodied. Soft carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Trad stuff. Drinkable but unexciting.

Half-pint, draught, shared with Finn at the brewery. Near-clear golden body, bubbles to the rim of the surface, dotted spots down the glass. Floral fruity nose, slightly spiced. The taste character has got a fruity touch, lightly spiced. A distant piney note to the ending. Average stuff. (Birmingham 03.02.2020).
