There are two ways of making American IPA. One is when you make beer from basic ingredients with basic techniques, and the added American hop will give the beer its character. The other is when you try to uniquely balance the flavor with the American hop, giving the beer its own character. Flying Rabbit is the latter. We use 5 different kinds of malt during brewing, then we add the popular Citra hop. It smells and tastes like a tropical fruit, starts out sweet with a bitter aftertaste. It was born to fly.

Bottle at a tasting at Beermalade. Hops centered, American feeling. Citrusy, resiny, mostly bitter, light caramel though. Easy drinking, good one.

33 cl bottle from Tesco, Székesfehérvár. Slightly hazy amber golden colour with a medium sized off-white head. Fruity aroma with citrus, grasses, caramel malts and fruits. Taste is bitter. Medium bodied. Dry and bitter finish with citrus fruit and light tropical impressions. Old school west coast IPA.

Edit in Nov 2019 Tap at Clock Block this time and I must admit that this version is much better and tasty, no flaws, just proper American IPA Original rating was 3.2 in December 2018 Bottle. One can feel roasted malts but not as significant as with others I had in Hungary. Bit sour, but good in overall.

Bottle, 0.33l. Hazy deep copper pour, one finger frothy off-white head. Medium retention and lacing. Strong herbal and grassy nose, a bit peppery, slight touch of citrus. Thin to medium body, medium carbonation. Average mouthfeel and texture, a bit fizzy. Pleasantly bitter taste paired with herbal fruity aroma. Grass and herbal spiciness dominate the aroma. Mild caramel in the background. Notable alcohol presence, a bit liquory. Mild notes of citrus fruits and orange peel. Long lasting finish, dry and bitter. Overall, decent enough IPA. A bit rough around the edges but still quite drinkable. Not something I'd call refreshing, though. Like I said - quite dry. Still, good.

Butelka 330 z datą ważności 3.05.2018 BARWA: jasny bursztyn, delikatnie przymglone. PIANA : średnia , drobno pęcherzykowa, trwała , pozostawia ładny lacing, koloru brudnej bieli. AROMAT: po otwarciu chmielowy ( tropiki, żywica) szybko zwietrzało i została podbudowa słodowa (zboże) lekki karmel. I nuty siatkowe.

0.33 bottle.
Wonderful amber unfiltered warm color, cream colored extra durable fine foam. I’m not starting to describe the flavors, it’s just that it’s a perfect APA. As it should be ... an outstandingly good beer.

Csodás borostyán szűretlen meleg szín, krémszínű extra tartós finom hab. Nem kezdem el leírni az izeket, csak annyit hogy egy tökéletes APA. Amilyennek lenni kell.. kiemelkedően jó sör.

On tap at MONYO, pours a cloudy orange amber with a small white head. Aroma brings out orange rinds, citrus hops, and biscuity malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with orange and citrus rinds, resinous hops, and biscuity malt. A little too malty, but it works well enough.
