There are two ways of making American IPA. One is when you make beer from basic ingredients with basic techniques, and the added American hop will give the beer its character. The other is when you try to uniquely balance the flavor with the American hop, giving the beer its own character. Flying Rabbit is the latter. We use 5 different kinds of malt during brewing, then we add the popular Citra hop. It smells and tastes like a tropical fruit, starts out sweet with a bitter aftertaste. It was born to fly.

330ml can. Pours a hazy copper with a large, frothy, long lasting, off-white head that leaves thick patches of soapy lace. Mild aroma of caramel malt, orange and herbal hops. Sweet fruity flavour of caramel malt, grapefruit, mango, pine and spicy hops in a dry, bitter finish. Medium body with an oily texture and average carbonation. A little sweet, but still pretty solid.

It was a reasonnable IPA, not so far than an embuscade, rather dry, bitter, not so citrus and aromatic, refreshing, 08.06.18, drinking it at Lausanne, Prélaz.

Karmelowe, przejrzałe owoce tropikalne, melanoidynowe, rodzynki. Barwa miedziana, przejrzyste, piana rachityczna redukuje się do niskiej, umiarkowany lacing. Goryczka średnia, palona. Słodkie przełamane wytrawnym charakterem. Ciekawe, całkiem nietypowe podejście. Mało tu owocowości, bardziej postawione na brytyjsko-niemieckie klimaty.

0.33 l bottle.Amber color, with nice white head. Strong, bitter aroma, nice fruity scents, some asparagus. Bitter taste, no fruits in it. Long bitter finish. Medium body, expected more of that, lively carbonation.

Keg at the Monyo Taphouse, Budapest, 09/06/23. Hazed orange with a well presented off white cap. Nose is orange zest, melon, tangerine, grass, papaya. Taste comprises orange peel, sweet edges to this, soft malts, mandarin, mango pulp. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close splashed with juicy hop bitterness. Okay if overly sweet for my liking.
