double highland beer, the brown Peak is the beer of the master brewer. No spices, but a secret mix of 5 different special malts selected to give a perfect balance between roasted, sweetness and caramel. This is the ideal beer to pair with a local cheese. EBC 75.

0,33 l bottle. Is it now called Scotch? Same label colour and abv, so I rated it here. Red brown in the glass, more than one finger pale beige head. Looks good. Malt, caramel with some nuts and coffee on the nose. Taste is smooth dark malty, berry sweetness, caramel and resin. Little bit alcoholic bitterness. Some barrel wood elements. Not bad. Big thank you to Alex & Thorsten for this bottle.

Eher trockener, leicht säuerlicher Malzbeginn. Brotig, geringe Würzigkeit, eher unspannend. 9/8/7/7/7/7

Bottle from a Durbuy bottle shop - many thanks, Anke! Hazy dark brown, thin, off-white head. Aroma of prune, raisin, red apple, brown bread, toffee, mocha, peanut. Taste has sweetish pear, apple & plum; sourish brambleberry over a bready malt base with nutty, bit toasty accents. Herbal hoppy finish with dried fruit and toffee. Medium body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. Enjoyable but a bit too fizzy.

Bottle at home. Opaque muddy brown color. Average sized beige head. Aroma is malts, sweetish, raisins. Flavor is malts, sourish, tastes a little infected. Not very nice.

Light brown colour with thin head. Aroma and flavour have tonnes of caramel sweetness. Some light banana too. Not yeasty. Quite clean. Nice depth of flavour though.
