Waren die letzten Märzenbiere des späten Winters ausgetrunken, war in den Klöstern Erfindergeist gefragt: Ohne Kühlung konnten dann nur die fruchtig-frischen, obergärigen Biere gebraut werden. So entsteht auch heute noch eine besonders schmackhafte Weissbierspezialität: Die Alpirsbacher Kloster Weisse.

pours an opaque dirty orange with a stable white head and a nice lacing. fruity aroma, apple jam, yeast, neither banana nor cloves are prominent. fruity and bready flavour, oranges, caramel. it is somewhere between a regular and dunkelweizen.

Bottle. Creamy White good mostly lasting head. Dark yellow colour.Moderate malty and,light hoppy heavy yeasty aroma. Moderate bitter flavor. Moderate fruity esters. Orange dominating. Average finish. Creamy palate.

33cl bottle from Famila in Westerland. Smooth fresh fruity yeast. Very mild beer, sweetish Weizen, nice mix between clove and banana, no bitterness. Easy to drink but a bit too soft for me. Mild and nearly neutral yeasty aftertaste. Very interesting.

bottle from local Edeka. Murky golden-brown with a mid-sized head. Yeasty-doughy nose. Medium-bodied, wheaty and malty with yedasty accents and hints of caramel. Very shy hoppy touch. Smooth and velvety palate.

330ml bottle [Thanks to brother FRANzisKus for observing the rule, i.e. abdication of personal property]. Extremely cloudy amber colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Slightly wheaty and fruity aroma, notes of apple. Taste is minimally sweet, wheaty, minimally strawy, a touch of apple lends minimal tartness. Simple and rather boring.

Hazy orange, fluffy offwhite head. Grainy, phenolic aroma with yeast and banana. Flavour has sweet banana candy, caramel ending on a weird sourish bitter note.
