GENESI (“Genesis”) is an Italian Grape Ale Style produced according to the Champenoise or classic method.

The base of this beer is a mix of our Blanche beer, SAGGIA, as main must, and additional Verdicchio’s grape must. After 3 months of aging in steel containers, Genesi is bottled with the addition of yeast used in sparkling wine fermentation. It has to be left to rest for about one year, time during which each bottle is handled following the “Remuage technique” to ensure the natural deposition of the yeasts in the bottle-neck capsule.

After the disgorgement, the “Liqueur d’expedicion” is added to finalize the second fermentation. This beer has been produced by the brewer to recall the many days spent carrying on experiments on sparkling wines with his father, Professor of Microbiology at the Polytechnic of Marche, who let his son taking part to his research since he was a child. It is from here that comes the passion for beer: GENESI.

I Draught /I Whitish-transparant small head over hazy orangey yellow beer. Dough-like overtones, caramel. In the flavour, liquorice, marzipan, thick syrupy, almost dried fruit, and quite a spiciness going on. Alcohol is there, the grapes are missing. Slick, even viscous. Not my cup of tea. It seems the idea was stressing the spiciness, and not too much vinous... succeeded too well.
