Schramm’s Raspberry is a mead made from whole Michigan raspberries. The flavor is unmistakably fruity raspberry, reminiscent of Michigan summers, and is balanced by honey sweetness. Due to the high level of acidity from the berries, it can age gracefully for many years. A tribute to our home state’s strong fruit growing tradition, this was the first mead made by head meadmaker Ken Schramm. It holds a special place in our history as well as our cellar. This melomel pairs well with grilled Great Lakes salmon, salads, cheesecake, and summer evening bonfires by the lake.

Pours dark, purplered. Smell is pure, intense raspberry jam. Taste is full, intense, raspberry sweetness, thick honey. Very fullbodied, nice mead that is very fruit-forward.

30/XI/19 - sample @ Day 2 of Billies Craft Beer Festival 2019, BB: n/a - (2019-2035) Thanks to all for sharing today’s beers!

Aroma: lots of diacetyl, very yoghurt like, sweet impression, raspberry jam and raspberry flavoured yoghurt. MF: no carbon, medium body. Taste: diacetyl covered up by lots of sweet sugary, honey. Aftertaste: more yoghurt, sugary, diacetyl, soft bitterness, pretty oxidized.

Bottle @ Ulfborg Gueuze Tasting. Pours deep red. Aromas of honey, raspberries, sweet jam, light tartness, subtle marzipan. Taste is lightly tart, jammy, raspberries, marzipan.

375ml bottle. Sweet, heavy with honey, raspberry jam, vanilla, oak and toffee notes. Quite heavy and jammy.
