Edition "Donaubergland".

(bottle, 75cl) Hazy, pale golden colour with a short and slightly off-white foamy head. Grainy, wheaty and rye-like nose with a tinge of dough and acidity, also yeasty spice and traces of bubblegum and vanilla. Moderately sweet flavour with a delicately level of tartness, medium to full bodied with a calm carbonation. Grainy and slightly juicy malty taste with notes of rye, wheat, bonbons/bubblegum; sweet, delicately sour tart and fruity finish with a well-embedded alcoholic strength. Drinkable but not my cup of tea. 30.IX.16

Fläschle (750ml, Dank am Bodensee!): Golden, hazy, small creamy off-white head with a good lace; perfumed wheaty-grainy nose with a distinctive yeasty touch and a certain acidity, reminding You of pickled gherkins; moderate bitter-sweet flavour with a faint acidity, almost full bodied and a bit tart, but still relatively soft; bitter-sweet yeasty-grainy finish. O.K., but not great...

Good white head; fully hazy yellow beer. Dusty, spicy nose, all sorts of kernels and seeds, other grains, and clove. Sweet, perfumey (rather than exotic fruit and honey...), sweet malts, rosewater and toilet water. Quite slick, gristslickness, medium bodied. Not my taste, despite the for German standards spectacular bottle.

Huge thanks to quack-duck for that one! Bottle looks really, really good. Beer in the glass zippy, nice small head. Yeasty aroma. Starts strong, modest yeasty, fine malty and spicy. Lihgt alcoholic background. Fruity hints of banana. Finish quite dry-yeasty. Not bad!
