Argelette, named after the stony schist found locally, is a complex blend and made from the maximum amount of varieties, from the oldest trees that particular year has to offer.
A vinous sydre which keeps well thanks to its balance between matter, acidity, roundness and minerality. (5% depending on the vintage).

Bottle from Pasanella & Sons near the old Fulton Fish Market. What Fulton now lacks in fish, it make up for in pricey, locally grown hippie food. L09/2009 stamped on the cork. Served in a stange glass. Clear, amber gold body. Subtle activity. Smells of browned, bittersweet apples. Peppery greens, minerally sweat, fermenting grain. Has a somewhat unexpected English cider taste to it. Old, bittersweet apples. A little dirty/danky. Hard water. Envelope glue, with a lingering woody vanilla finish. Spritzy carbonation. Mellow, upfront lingering tartness, moderately low amount of acid. Talcy texture. A bit old maybe? Had higher expectations for this.

Aroma is rather leathery with some slightly floury and tart apples. Also lots of earthy notes. Flavour is dry with somewhat tart apples. Dry and very leathery palate. Also some very slight moldy notes that get stronger towards the end of the glass. Probably a bit past its prime, but definitely not bad still.

Bottle 750ml.Clear medium yellow color with a average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly to fully diminishing, white head. Aroma is moderate apple. dry apple, light vanilla. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and light light acidic with a average to long duration, dry. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is flat. [20100821]

75 cL bottle. Pours cloudy yellow with a huge white head. Aroma is dry apple and sulphorish. Dry apple fruity. Sulphorish too. Mild acidic and dry sulphorish. Dry and crisp apple fruity into the finish.

Hazy deep blond color; no head retention, but fine perlage. Nice fruity aroma, fresh apples. Lean body, semi-dry mouthfeel; average apple flavor, rapidly followed by a delicate woody astringency. Fruity, not sweet, elegant.
