Clear deep reddish amber beer, big creamy beige head, very stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: caramel, dried fruits, alcohol, bit dusty. MF: soft carbon, full body. Taste: sweet start, some caramel, raisins, dried fruits, some red wine tannins, bit of alcohol, molasses. Aftertaste: little sourish, soft hop bitterness, fruity, alcohol, dried fruits, pretty heavy and solid drink.

Draught @ Hoppeschuur. Nice red color, average sized off-white to beige head that lasts for quite a while and leaves fair to good lacing. Aroma is malts, a bit sweet, wood, oak. Tastes about the same: malts, lightly sweetish, wood, oak, overripe fruits in a nice way and a nice soft bitter touch left at the back of your tongue. Full body, medium carbonation. This beer really improved tremendously on the oak barrel and is now without a doubt one of the best oak aged beers in Belgium.

Draught Small, but stable cream-coloured head; dark red-ruby to brownish veiled beer. Vinous nose, red fruit, fresh oak, touch of vanilla, strawberry cream. Beautiful aromas, super-inviting. Vinous, wood, milkchocolate-covered red fruit. Finish is wry(ish) oak, wood undergrowth. No vanilla here, older oak. Not lame, but the flavours are falling away rather quickly, vinosity no longer there in the aftertaste. Well-bodied and oily, yet thinner as expected. Superb upgrade for the Samaranth - in itself not a punishment. Great achievement, folks!
