17/IV/13 - 33cl bottle from De Hopduvel (Gent) @ home - BB: IX/2013 - (2013-338)
Little cloudy dark orange beer, very big dens off-white head, very stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: lots of grains, sweet malts, raw grains, toast, bit butty. Mf: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: sweet malts, some caramel, chocolate, bit sourish, alcohol, sugary touch. Aftertaste: sweet, alcohol warming the throat (really, at 5.5%???), caramel, citrus, bitter hops, some hay, dry and bitter ending. I really liked this beer. But I don't believe it's only 5.5% abv. I'm almost sure it has to be more.

Very good fine & dense yellowish head over hazy orange-ochre beer. Intense, if spicy maltnose. Some citrus or citruspeel, garden herbs. Some yeasty notes, yeast offshoots. Bitterish, but again mainly malty main taste. Serious oxydation, yet BBD still six months away. Again herbal/spicy. Finish has some citruspeel reappearing. Oxydation works annoying, even when the flavourprofile seems right. Very carbonated, spritzy, medium bodied and quite slick. Despite the criticism, it’s not really bad, and certainly drinks away without much afterthought.
