So i missed my connect train to clockworks house and had to take a cab ride for half hour to make it to tasting, which made me slightly nauseous, than first thing upon arrival he hands me this! Anyways brown pour nose is tons boozy whiskey. tastes of hot burning alcohol, soy sauce, some dark fruit, and malty. that’ll wake you up in the morning

At the Bierboom in Bruges, cheers Rudy! No head whatsoever, blackish colour but in fact largely translucent very dark burgundy, lightly hazy. Unsurprisingly very intense and overwhelming nose of bourbon, iodine-like peat, kahlua, slivovitz, chocolate liqueur and methylated spirits. I hesitate to take a sip... Very strong, peppery, almost tequila- or slivovitz-like alcohol burn from beginning to end, overpowering underlying flavours of black bitter chocolate, charcoal, grappa, peat and dried plums; thick and oily body. Only retronasally, some remnants of the basic beer come through, with hints of dried banana, vanilla, roasted hazelnuts and fondant chocolate. It comes as no surprise that in a beer of this ABV, the alcohol dominates everything, in this case even more so than in the BAOS which was still more or less drinkable; I am glad I bought a bottle of that one and not this liquor, both are very expensive and this is simply way too alcoholic for my taste. I’m sure whisky lovers may appreciate this though, like BAOS. "Not for beer geeks", the deScription above states: I could not agree with this more.

Bottle thanks to Mr C Garvie. It pours clear, oily deep brown. The nose is rich, hot alcohol, rubber, burning pile of tires, big medicinal character, permanent marker pen and earth. The taste is rich, oily, hot, burnt wood, burnt rubber, charred wood, umami character and dull vanilla & toffee in the background with a hot, burning finish. Full body, oily and slick mouth-feel. Again with the Black Albert version, the alcohol heat rips through your palate. Not great.

Many thanks to kappldav123 for this "beer". The liquid starts thick and viscous. We drank it out of a Likör-glass, which fits nice to the stuff. Extrem malty-visous, sugary with a sharp - but still somehow smooth - alcoholic ending. Very interesting and strange in one. Not much bitterness there, viscous sweetish malt with hints of roast, nice alcohol in the aftertaste, hints of wood. Fascinating!

One of the very very big surprises in the box from kappldav123. Oh dear! Black in the glass. No head. Something between strong liqueur and whiskey on the nose. The first small sip is warming, got glowing ears. Taste has a lot of coffee, malt with nearly sticky sweetness and burning alcohol . But all in a pleasant way. Big big thank you to kappldav123 for sharing this experience.

Bottle at home (not the whole). Looks really, really good. Beer in the glass deep black, oily, no head. Heavy alcoholic sharp aroma. Starts very strong, alcoholic, burning, sharp. Not much beery notes. A bit malty-stouty. Finish a very bit less sharp, still alcoholic, warming. A better one of the very high alcohol beers. Not easy to rate.

(2cl sample from a bottle at One Pint Pub, 20151219) The beer poured clear and nearly black. No head. Aroma had liquorice, burnt malts, wood and booze. Palate was warming. Flavours were cough mixture, booze, wood, burnt malts and ash. Aftertaste was ashy and boozy. Not pleasant at all.
