A dark reddish brown ale with a no head. In aroma, sweet caramel malt with licorice, alcohol warmth, light woody notes, pleasant. In mouth, a nice caramel malt with chinotto taste, jeigermaster, alcohol warmth, very nice.

2cl bottle pour at Kulminator, pours black, no head. Nose is hot and perfumey, with light soy sauce, essence of spirit, and booze. Flavour is very boozy, with medium roast, whiskey, intense booze, and a little perfume. Fun to try but it's not a work of art. A little better than the Black Albert eisbock but not much.

Bottle thanks to cgarvieuk. Appearance - deep brown and still. Nose - burnt wood, firey booze and not much else. Taste- booze and wood. Palate - very boozy and full bodied. Overall - a bit dodgy.

Bottle share at OBD, courtesy of djd07. Bit malty, heavy bourbon, boozy, lots of alcohol in aroma and flavor. Burns the throat.

Hackney Bottleshare. Hazy deep amber - brown beer, no head. Spicy whiskey nose. Palate is smooth and dry, no carbonation. Some dark malts detectable, trace of dark chocolate. Alcohol warmth and spice. Big bourbon, quite smooth but also hot and spicy. Smooth dry spicy finish leaves a hot linger. It's comes over as bourbon with a little dark malt infused. Quite clever I suppose but it goes beyond the borders of what I want from a beer. Interesting to try. It does seem to have calmed down a little from a previous sample over a year ago that was ferocious and almost undrinkable.

Bottle split at Chris & Ruths pre GBBF Shin Dig, cheers for all the shares, 05/08/17. Light black with a tan cap. Nose is big on booze fumes, dark chocolate, spice, liqourice, dried fruits. Taste is a big boozey dance off, black peppery spice, aniseed, dark chocolate, fruit cake, charr, biscuit. Full full body, fine carbonation, hot warming close. A big beast and sippable at 41%.

Small pour thanks to Leighton for bringing this from Englandshire. Black pour, no head, chunks of what looks like grilled char. The nose is surprisingly not burning. I think the most astounding thing is that the Belgian yeast and some fruity esters are totally apparent. It's kind of burnt, boozy, and has a little bit of coffee like notes. After swishing around my mouth, it felt like I had been injected with Novacaine.
