Huge thanks to Erzengel for that one. Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass zippy, nice head. Intense yeasty-malty aroma. Starts strong, light alcoholic, intense yeasty notes. Hints of peaches, apricot. Interesting!

Hellmalziger, deutlich herber Antrunk. Netter Doppelbock ohne Malzfixierung. 10/11/11/12/11/11

Fast receding dirty-beige head over orange-chestnut beer, hung with micro-UFO’s. End of bottle virtually opaque. Bready and sourish - like sourdough bread; oxydized speculoos. Not very inviting nose. Bitterish/sourish flavour, like old sourdough bread with some bitterish spice. Laurel flavour. Very faintly burning MF, medium bodied, quite slick. I fear my sample might be beyond its BBD, but no date to be found on the bottle. Bottle seemed underfilled, too. Danke, Sebastian!

16.9oz bottle-pours a nice off white head and amber/gold color. Aroma is nice sweet light/medium malt-caramel/toffee, orange, some spice/floral hops. Taste is sweet light/medium malt-caramel/toffee, orange, secondary herbal/spice/floral hops. Good carbonation. Medium body.

Bottle. Gushed a bit. Copper orange color with a decent white head. Aroma is slightly spicey over lightly toasted malt. Medium body with frothy carbonation. Flavor is roasted malt and enough noble type hop for spice and balance. Very pleasant and tasty. A bit astringent in the finish. Just a really good beer - and it’s a lager!

This is a tiny bit under-rated - hazy, honey-colored beer, with almost no head, despite its fizzy body - pretty nice heller bock aroma, with soft floral notes, hints of honey, faint spicy hops, overripe fruits - fairly clean, and dangerously drinkable for its strength - a nice clean cane sugar and honey sweetness makes way for some floral/herbal flavors, and some bright fruity character - hops swell up from behind all of that, giving the finish a hop bite - a little of the alcohol comes up in the finish, but otherwise this is a nice, clean, simple beer, with a little kick.

A very nice bock. Different from the thick and heavy doppelbocks I have had recently like Andechs, but almost as good. Simple but good straightforward malt, fruit, and caramel aroma. Fairly thick for the style. Flavor has more malt and caramel. Sweet. Dark gold color and just a little hazy with a substantial white head.
