0.33 l bottle from ’Speciaalbierpakket.nl’, bottled in October 2016. Clear, very dark reddish amber with a thin, frothy, almost stable, off-white head. Sweetish, slightly roasty and minimally spicy aroma of coffee, caramel and hints of juniper and lemon peel. Sweetish, malty, minimally roasty and slightly spicy taste of caramel, chocolate, coffee, nuts and some juniper, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, slightly roasty and quite spicy finish with notes of juniper and orange peel. Medium body, slightly creamy and a little effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Not bad!

100ml draught at Cafe Sånn. Lasting, patchy off-white head leaving lacing rings down the glass. Dark brown in body appearance. Attractive aroma of nutty brown malts with herbal hops to it. Flavoured with caramel malts, bread, and pine needles towards a semi-dry ending. Well balanced, fine bodied and tasty (Tromsø 10.02.2017).

Fra fat på Cafe Sånn. Amber. Høyt skum som daler sakte. Aroma av mandler. Smaken moden frukt. Lett syrlig avslutning. Godt øl! Drukket i hyggelig lunsj med Egil.

Bottle @ home shared with dad. Hazy reddish color, average sized off-white to beige head. Smell and taste lightly malts, very hoppy, caramel, slightly bitter. Decent body and carbonation. Quite nice, as I don’t get any herbs or spices so I like it.

33 cl bottle @ home. Mostly clear brown color with a red hue. Off white head, thin layer retention. Aroma’s: toasted malts, herbal hops. Retronasal it’s sweetish, toasted, spices (I do get some ginger). Flavor is moderate sweet, toasted. Medium bodied. Roasty and moderate bitter finish. My nose was (still) a bit stuffy from a cold, so I might have missed most of the spices....

Bottle at home. Hazy mahogany with beige head. Ginger, cardamom, milk chocolate, lime peel, bready. Lots of spices alright, but also some dried herbs and fruits. Hmmm, now there’s cloves and coriander. Light cocoa dust and raisins. Under medium sweet with medium dry bitterness. Medium bodied with dry finish. Decent beer but it’s all about the spices.

Bottle at home. Light hazy caramel/tea brown with white head. Sweet caramel malts, nutty, malty, buttery, strong fruitiness and spices. Lot of citruspeel, also the bitter side. Some pine needle and resiny sweetness. One funky herbal mix. Medium sweet and light bitter. Medium body and soft carbonation. Or a watery sweet stout nutbutter fruitsalad if you will.
