Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a bubbly off-white head, it said a small pfiift when opened even though it was old. The aroma has notes of cherries, oxidation, and brettanomyces. The flavor is sweet with an acidic edge and notes of almonds, cherries, wood, and brettanomyces, leading to a dry woody, and slightly tart finish.

’07 version Small, lightly coloured head over red-amber beer. Beautiful fruity & Brett/horseblanket nose; just superb! Makes you want to eat the bottle. " Van ’t putteke , the best, "old-sherrysation" that a kriek can carry, with a little gulp of fortified wine. Wood is there, as is the alcohol, but discreet. Very slick, oily, alcoholic-warming, sliding down way too easily. A truly great beer. Certainly amongst my favourite Italians so far. Dieci mille grazie, Bertinotte!
