This was 2012 version, so 4-years old, on tap at Craft Heads on the occasion of their 7th anniversary. Poured nice and dark, formidable beige head. Aroma had some cocoa, bitter chocolate and also a decent cupful of roast. Wow! I think this beer has only benefitted from the age, feels like its peaking at the moment. Flavours have blended nicely but by all means have not faded - crisp roast character with shiny biter chocolate and toffee sweetness. Impressed!

Growler thanks to JohnnyJ. Pours a clear deep brown with a brown head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma is full of roasted malts with some coffee and dark grains with a hint of dark chocolate. Flavor begins with chocolate and deep sweet grains with a strong roasted malt finish that was bitter.

Black with medium beige head. Sweet aroma with roasted malt, coffee and liquerice notes. Coffee in the flavour that somehow came out a bit watery.

GABF 2007. A brown beer with a red shine under a thin orangey head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of over ripe fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of vanilla and roasted malt, as well as lighter notes of coffee, leading to a dry bitter finish.
