Bottle, thanks to Jerre for giving me one!
Hazy, brown body. Lightly brown head. Sour, fruity aroma of esters, flowers, wood, lactic acids, ... Not totally well balanced, there is a weird note inside it. Moderately bitter, lightly sour flavour of malts and lactic acids. Balance of the flavour isn’t fully perfect, the same awkwardiness is present. Still it is very nice.

(2/28/08) Draught sample at PreZBF@Alvinne in Heule. Reddish brown with a beige head. Aroma of oak, some brett, a bit of malt and caramel. Sour flavor with wood, a bit of sweet malt and roasted notes. Medium-bodied. Very nice.

Test vom 11.3.2008, Gebinde: Fass Noten: 15,13,12,14,-,13 - 13,21

From tap at alvinne. Pours dark brown with a hazzlenut hue and a dense white head. Light fruity and mild woody aroma. Dry woody brett flavour to a nice caramel malt base. Crisp flavour.

Red-brown hazy beer; disappearing beige head. Very nice lactic acid nose, bit lemony, obvious wood. Very dry in the mouth, lactic acid is there, but gets overwhelmed by a more stout-like, roasted taste, unusual in Oud Bruin. Finish is a bit wild yeast-like. Thinned by the acids, but not empty. A bit more lactic acid in the taste, as well as some sweet malts would make it more classical Oud Bruin. In the mean time, it’s quite good on its own. Certainly one of their better tries.

Bottle: Poured a dark chocolate color brown with a bubbly head. Old very lucent aroma musty and malt. The taste has that burnt rich sour malt but also leaves a tingle on the tongue and finishes sweet. Talked to the brewers at Bier Happenings fest in Zottemgen and they said this will not be brewed again. I recomment grabbing a 75cl bottle when you see it.
