It's summer, the sun is out and Half Mast is the perfect way to celebrate. An IPA with a quarter of the alcohol, but not lacking in the flavour, impact balance that you would expect from a Siren beer. This golden coloured IPA has a surprising malt base given it's strength, low bitterness, but it's popping with juicy mango and grapefruit. Truly the perfect summertime drink.

Bottle. What a great beer! Not just a great low alcohol beer, but a great beer. Nice biscuity, caramel maltiness. The hoppiness is deliciously fruity with notes of peach, mango and lychee. Light, but not thin. Crazy drinkability!

330ml bottle. Clear orangey, dark golden to amber colour with average, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, white head. Wonderful fruity hop aroma, notes of grapefruit, mango, minimally piney, some resin, caramel malty background. Taste is bitter hoppy, minimally piney, minimally chalky, caramel malty basis with a biscuit touch. Full flavoured, not to distinguish from a "regular" APA aside from the lighter body that shines through not until the relatively short finish. Superb!

Lightly hazy amber beer with a small white head. Thin and minerally crisp palate. Thin malt cream. Fresh orange peel and grapefruit hops. Touch of pine and a little mint. Light and semi dry finish. All right!

Bottled, from NK, Stockholm. Cloudy golden/amber, rich head. Rich aroma of tropical fruit, cocos and lemon yoghurt. Dry with light body and rounded mouthfeel. Lots of fresh, citrusy hops. Marked bitter finish. Much more balanced than other attempts of sub-3% heavily hopped beers. Really good!

Draught @ Fairbar. Pours slightly hazy dark yellow with a white head, loads of lively bubbles. Aroma of light malt, sweet biscuit, sweet fruity hops, peach, light grapefruit. Flavor is malt, cracker, sweet fruity hops, peach, mango, some citrus, grapefruit. Medium body, lively carbonation, light bitter finish. Refreshing and very easy to drink. A great beer, and for the low ABV this one really stands out. 301013

[10/6/13] Draught at CASK Pub & Kitchen in London. Clear deep golden. Hoppy aroma with tropical fruits, citrus, a bit of pine and light grainy hints. Slightly husky flavor with fruity and piney hops and a bitter finish. Rather light-bodied. Nice.
