It's summer, the sun is out and Half Mast is the perfect way to celebrate. An IPA with a quarter of the alcohol, but not lacking in the flavour, impact balance that you would expect from a Siren beer. This golden coloured IPA has a surprising malt base given it's strength, low bitterness, but it's popping with juicy mango and grapefruit. Truly the perfect summertime drink.

Tap at the Bat. Pours orange with nise resinous tropical fruit nose. Tastes of grapefruits, passionfruit, resin, pine, and some light malt. Nicely carbonated with lovely mouthfeel. Delicious.

Draft - Nice fresh sweet grapefruit. Clear gold with a rich head. Pine and resinous hops with a nice bitterness. Pretty good.

500ml bottle. 2.8%. Clear orange golden amber colour, foam white head leaving alittle lacing and aroma of tropical passonfruit, mango, hop resin, orange & grapefruit. Taste is malt caramel balanced with fruity mango and floral grapefruit citrus bitterness, plus some woody pine. Smooth slightly creamy mouthfeel, light bodied, soft to medium carbonation, lingering dry hoppy bitter finish. Very drinkable.

Keg. Appearance is hazy, orangey amber, a half finger white head. Plenty of fruity, orangey, and fresh hop aromas. Big bitter taste, with hop resins, pine, and citrus fruits. Full and a bit clingy in the mouth. Packed with flavour for 2.8%. Really nice.

Bottle from Beer Central, Sheffield. Hazy gold. Untidy, thin, sticky, white head. Juicy peach and mango. Light, fusty hop. Taste is light dry and light bitter. Surprising depth on the palate. Finish is light, pink grapefruit bitter. Hint of dryness. Very good.

Keg at The Hanging Bat. Pours hazy orange, thick off-white head. Aromas of citrus, tropical fruit and light malt sweetness (wort?). Taste is light sweet bitter linger. Body is light, thin mouthfeel. Not bad.

Keg @ Brewdog, Camden. Pours hazy orange with white head. Big citrus aroma with initial grapefruit hit in the taste. Quite a bold taste for the ABV, though i have had hoppier low ABV beers. Decent thirst-quenching, sessionable beer with a nicely blended fruitiness.
