Sample at the brewpub. Pours nearly black with a medium thin and creamy light beige head that dissipates to a dense film. Sticky rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt and chocolate. Light, semi-dry body with flavors of sweet toasted malt, chocolate and a touch of smoke. The finish is short and malty. Slightly above average overall.

Draft. Nitro. Blackish beer with a tan nitro head. Roasty aroma. Light flavor, slightly sour, slight roast. Lingering sourness/lactic. Lighter bodied.

Black with creamy beige head.Chocolate espresso nose. Bitter unsweetend chocolate taste. Far too thin. Probably the worst offering I have had from this brewery.

Draught Very dark with red highlights; reddish-brown, tenacious head, lace. Burning wood, burnt grains and coffee nose, and a bit bready. Burnt/roasted grains, some restsweetness; bitterness is for the largest part due to the malts, IMO.
