Tap at TFD Boise: Very dark brown pour with a finger of creamy tan head. Nice sheets of lacing. Aroma is soft of roasted malt and cocoa. Tastes smooth and sweet with more cocoa than roast or coffee. Rather tame, but still pleasant.

Draft. Blackish beer with a light tan head. Light roast, light chocolate aroma with slight vanilla. Light roast, light chocolate flavor with light coffee. Medium body. Light roast and light chocolate linger. Lower flavor and easy drinking.

On tap at SeaTac @ 6am with eggs and bacon. Nice. Pours dark seemingly murky brown with tan head. Well maybe not so murky. The aroma is mild with notes of roasted malts, toffee and earthiness. This beer is served way too cold to get a good read on the aromatics. The taste starts mildly roasty and sweet with a light amount of dark fruity esters. I also get a suggestion of hop bitterness before a growing malt roastiness transitions from moderate roasted malts to more of a burnt maltiness with an edge of chocolate malts. All of their offerings here could be served warmer.

Draught @ Taphouse Grill, Seattle. Pours a dark brown almost black color with a tan head. Roasted malty chocolate aroma. Roasted malty chocolate and slighlty licorice flavor. Roasted malty chocolate finish.

Pint draft at Africa Grill in Seattle Airport (A Gate area of Sea-Tac). Pour is black, with a thin 1/2 inch khaki head. Aroma of some roasted malt. Served too cold for Porter. Taste is a grainy, roast malt with some decent hop bitterness in the finish. Not complex by any means, but well built and very drinkable. This was my favorite Mac and Jack’s (of 3) to date.

Draught Served... ON THE ROCKS?? Black, exept reddish where the ice floats; thick brownish head. Despite the ice, very present roasted, dry-kilned malts and grains, even a bit cigarette ash. And even the same in the taste. In fact, it only diminishes the beer, the beers served in most brewpubs in Washington were ice cold too. Cigarette ash, roasted - I get some restsweetness. MF: well,... iceslickness. Is this serious, rating an iced beer? YES, IT IS! If the brewery/distributor/management lets its employees serve it this way, than it deserves no better!

Hazy dark brown colour. Aroma has a slight raw bean note and a hint of milk chocolate. Sweet overall flavour. Hint of lemon. Well-balanced example.
