Clear orange-golden beer, very carbonated, slight gushing to a luxurious, very creamy orange tinted head. Fresh, citrussy, lemony farmyard smells, including lemonbalm, clover, cypress - and even hops, lol. Nose to die for. Very roasted flavours, caramel, roasted malts. Sweetness is initially high, but then gets tempered by both light bitter and even lighter acidic spicey notes - multitude of herbs and spices: citrus, carrots, mustardseed, ginger,... anything. Dry, very dry mouthfeel, medium to well bodied. The soft sweetness of every new sip gets obliterated slowly, gradually by and ever drier, spicier softer bitterness. This beer is GENIUS - superbly balanced, and absolutely, insanely good for a new brewery. If, as their website says, this L’ Abbaye Zitti is not any longer brewed, then they should rebrew it immediately.
