Clear dark copper - thick lace - nose and flavor are a nice showcase for the smoke - body is creamy, with soft carbonation - moderate sweetness, with a touch of bracing acidity and bitterness, but the star of the show is thr campfire smokiness - very earthy and woody throughout - not as intense as schlenkerla urbock in the smoke department - if only it were, I would rate it even higher - even so, a great rauchbier.

on tap @GABF-pours gold with an offwhite head. Aroma is smoke/bacon-medium malt. Taste is some-sweet medium malt, 2nd spice hops.

My favourite of the SandLot beers, but then again I’m a bit of a smokewhore. Golden-brown colour. Very bright. Light, smooth, smoke aroma. The palate is clean, with hints of bready malts and a moderate but insistent smokiness. Well-rounded example that I could drink a lot of.

(draught from lagertank) Very clear, deep chestnut. Slight head, lacey. Nose of smoked ham and parsley. Dark malts, also, of course. (Glass used was bad - off-smell disregarded.) Several 'layers' of smokiness in the taste, nowhere exaggerated. Impression of saltiness. More like Spezial than like Schlenkerla. Retronasal taste like chestnut flour. Medium-bodied. Long smoky, slightly sweet aftertaste. GREAT Rauchbier!
