I remember this one poured a light golden color topped with a finger of white foamy head, quickly disappearing. The smell is very faint, only some malts and grains to be picked up. Similarly, the taste is weak, watery with a sweet start and only slight bittery feel in the end. Could do much better.

Aside from the usual Chinese lager sensations of bad head, yellow body, and an acidic aroma this thing has a lemony flavour with a bubblegum aftertaste. Its only saving grace is that the adjuncts don’t shine through.

Light coloured body - no bubbles at all in the glass with very little else to speak of. Aroma of subtle malt and a bit of caster sugar. Light-bodied; Malty taste with very little else - some sugars. Overall, not a great offering, but great to try in country. I sampled this 33 cL can purchased from the SciTech Plaza for a few pennies in the Hotel New Otani Chang Fu Gong on 12-March-2005 in Beijing, PRC.

Thanks to Matta for this! hope I have the right beer here, there is no indication in English that indicates it’s alcohol or anything else. I needed a palate cleanser in between a ham sandwich with Dijon mustard and a barleywine and this was perfect. Once you get past the smell, you’ve got it licked. Why do these Pale Lagers look so good?? Pours a large white head that lasts quite a while over a sparkling clear light yellow beer with loads of tiny bubbles streaming to the surface. Soapy sour aroma with no flavor to speak of. Watery and as refreshing as water can be. Could be a lot worse I guess.

Pale blond color. Smelly, and somehow soda aroma. Watery, quite dry. Difficult to accept.

Which one was this? 5.0 ABV says the bottle. The characters probably mean "coloured water for silly longnoses". Very pale golden-yellow, totally clear. White head, fast dissipating, lacey. Nose very faint grain, herbal. Or very faint, point. Taste is a bit malty, pale malt, and not the slightest indicatable extra aroma or flavour. Nice carbonation, very watery. I suppose one doesn't fatten on this...

As my bottle did not state the degree, only the abv (which was 5.5%) I can only guess it was this beer I rated. Pale yellow with a head that vanishes quicker than an ice cream in Sahara. Solvent aroma. Sweet and thin, no make that empty, with only some unpleasant adjunct flavour. Artificial instant beer?
