Reddish brown colour. Caramel and brown sugar on the nose. Sweet but bland palate. The combination of sweetness, lack of body and lack of melanoidins (those compounds that manifest themselves as luscious, rich maltiness) tells me this beer has too many adjuncts. Some sort of unfermentable caramel perhaps? Not unlike a Peruvian schwarzbier in that respect.

Dark black, but with clear reddish shine. very little, yellowish head. Rich malt nose, with sweet chocolate tones. Very sweet, malt-sugars, sweet worts at first, but going over in liquorice. Hint of bitterness at the end. Very slight carbonation. Pretty empty. Aftertaste turns to sweet-liquorice again. Too sweet. It does resemble a German Maltztrunk. Wonder where those 5.6 ABV are hiding.
