A modern version of a classic pale ale. We played around with the yeast here, to trim down the maltiness and make the body of the beer rather dry, bringing out the hop flavour and adding a good amount of carbonation. *burp*

American style pale ale by this new 'bierfirma' in Limburg, bottle from Drinkshall Geenen in Balen. Quite a strong gusher, took me a while to get into a glass properly. Eggshell-white, foamy, thick, large-bubbled, papery lacing, stable head, misty pale orangey-tinged golden robe with a diffuse suspension of yeast everywhere, perturbed by some loose strings of fine sparkling. Aroma of moldy old oranges, old bread, strawberry, peach jam, sweetclover, mandarin peel, damp straw, dry earth. Restrainedly ruity onset, crisp with quite bright notes of apricot and orange, subdued in sweetness, sharp in fizziness with very strong minerally effect; smooth bready, lightly caramelized maltiness, yeasty breadiness and old citrus peel- and dried bitter herb-like hop bitterness, resinous and long yet remaining altogether gentle (as intended in APA), but providing a dry, spicy finish with citrus peel aromatics. Some powdery, bready yeast accents linger. Needs cleaning up - a less yeasty version of this would come a lot closer to the intended APA style, and so would more 'brightly lit' New World hop aromatics. Still a pleasant enough, modern, enjoyable quencher though, at least more original and 'contemporary' than the uninspired tripels and blondes many other starting beer companies in this country come up with.

Bottle at home. Clear orange golden color, full sized fairly quickly diminishing off-white head. Aroma is rather sharp citruspeel-ish, lime, lemon, yeast, coriander, possibly other herbs or spices. Flavor is similar: wheat, yeasty, some citrus, citrussy sharp-ish bitter. Average to medium body, medium almost firm carbonation. Mwah.

Bottle from thebeershop.be. Hazy yellow colour, white foam. Rather lively carbonation. Nose of Belgian yeast, coriander, some tropical fruit. Rather bitter, some citrussy notes, also lots of lemon peel. A bit messy.
