Bottle, 9.5%. Very malty aroma, dark malts, vinous, alcohol, dust, and a little dried fruit. Hazy red chestnut colour. Small, creamy tan head. The flavour is quite powerful, sweet dark malts, some yeast, hint of metal. Nicely warming aftertaste though slightly rough finish. OK balanced. High carbonation. Quite good, but not perfect.

Bottled. A deep red beer with a huge orange head. The aroma is sweet and very fruity, peaches, mango, and more, combined with notes of berries, yeast, alcohol, prunes, and some caramel. The flavor is very sweet with strong notes of fruit and berries, peaches, cowberries, mango, and more, as well as a spicy note including coriander, cloves, and hints of cinnamon, but also with notes of alcohol, yeast, dusty hops, and wood, leading to a dry woody and spicy finish. Nice.

(Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 29 Sep 2007) Dark reddish brown colour with big, firm, beige head. Fruity nose with dark fruit and dried apricots. Malty, fruity taste with notes of dried fruit and a spicy finish. Balanced sweetness. Superb balance in this velvety, soft, malty ale.

Bottled (BB 12/2008)
Hazy nut brown color, big creamy off-white head. Caramel and grape aroma, also some dry spicey notes. Sweet flavor, crisp mouthfeel, but not really alcoholic. Some berries, can’t pick which one (rasberry?). Ok dessert beer, sweet but not too cloying sweet. Just lacks some character.

33 cL bottle. Pours red/amber brown with a good creamy light brown head. Aroma is sour while the beer still is too cold, becomes more malty, yeast and spiced as it heats up. Flavour is first slight berry-sour, going strong malty, sweet to dry and then yeasty. Finish is clearly spiced and alcohol makes an appearance.

33cl bottle from Noel Cuveliers. Reddish brown with lasting dark beige head. Malty aroma, bit of syrupy fruit I suppose. Some hot alcohol on end. There is a very good grainyness there. Slightly whiskyish malt. Good strong beer.

Bottle: Poured a dark black/brown with a tan color head. The aroma was sour metal and spice smelling. Sour first flavor but shifted to a nice sweet malt finish.
