Aroma: Oak, toffee, malty and fruity.
Palate: Medium + body. Slightly sweet and an ok bitterness. Average carbonation.

Overall impression: Powerful and tasty ale.

Somewhere between ruby and bronze in colour with no head. This is a very sweet ale with the best feature being the distinctive oak matured taste this brewer is known for. The treacle flavour is not overstated either making this aspect pleasant.

Colour is more of a really dark amber or copper than the brown /black I’d expect for a porter. Aroma is fruit, vanilla, earthy hops, hint of chocolate. Earthy and fruity, some more vanilla in the taste. Pretty thin for a porter. Very woody and nothing to try again.

Treacle nose with vanilla highlights, fairly rich. Clear bronze, medium tan head, good lacing. Boozy for a porter. Rum and tobacco flavor, toffee finish. Thin. Flavor is noticeably bolder than the body, so much that the beer seems conflicted. Quite enjoyable.

Flaska från SB. Ca ett år gammal, BB sep 2013. Mahognyfärgad, lågt skum, klar. Luktar snarlikt den vanliga I&G. Vanilj, trä, smörkola, men nu aningen syrligare. Stor fatvanillinsmak, lite fadd träig kropp, lätt syrlig, inte så söt som jag väntat mig, men treaclesmaken finns där. Inte särskilt porterlik, mer åt strong ale. Nja inte något vidare.

Bottled. Ambery brown colour with a mediumsized creamy beige head. Aroma is malts, mild toasted notes, wood, vanilla and some slight lactic notes. Flavour is mild spices, some wood, mild toasted malts as well as some mild floral and herbal notes. Surprisingly refreshing for being a porter.

Clear amber - brown beer, good pale cream coloured head. Palate is light and a little crisp. Creamy malt with a trace of wood. Sweet bubblegum esters. A little spice. Finishes semi dry. Spicy woody aftertaste. Not very porter like and no discernable treacle but pretty drinkable.

Poured from 330mL bottle. Dark reddish brown with minimal beige head. Aroma of malt, caramel, hint of banana and some butterscotch. Taste very much the same with some cherry licorice and alcohol. Slightly bitter finish, medium body.

Fra flaske på hytta, delt med Ovesen: fruktig aroma ispedd eik, vanlije og (sirup-)sødme, som gjør den mer interessant for meg en den versjonen som var lagret på romfat. Humlen er beskjedent til stede, så helhetsinntrykket er en søtlig nippeøl som passer til en god bok foran peisen. Ikke et øl for mai måned, selv i nordisk klima.
