Fyr og Flamme is a dry hopped IPA in the US style with an exceptional aroma and hop flavours. We use a very special blend of 3 American hops that produce lots of hop flavours. We produce living beer, not pasteurised or filtered.

On tap at Borefts 2012, Bodegraven. Pours cloudy gold with a fine, white cream head. Herbal hop nose, some dry grapefruit. Medium sweet flavor with dry grapefruit and toasty grass. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly dry to finish, some further toasty grass and bread. Decent.

Draft @ Borefts 2012 - darker orange with a big quickly collapsing white head - smells is clear sharp citrus hops with some caramel malts and hay - taste is round sharp citrus turning over time into bitter herbs and plenty of spices, finishing some hay and tad sweeter citrus, touch grass - neat carb, lightly fuller body - quite interesting and different - not bad

Draft at Borefts Beer Festival. Slightly cloudy golden brown pour with a bubbly white head. Nice hoppy and well controlled bitterness in the flavour with sweet citrus notes in the aftertaste. A really unusual IPA and one of my favourites.

Bottle: Poured a cloudy dirty dark beige color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some great lacing. Aroma of deep dry hops with nice floral notes is quite intense and very enticing. Taste is a mix between huge floral notes with some notes of dry malt. Nice clear notes of citrus with very limited bitterness level and almost no astringency. Body is full with limited filtration and good carbonation. Solid offering with good mastering of dry hops technique.

50cl bottle from Appellation Wines. Pours a beautiful amber colour with an excellent head. The nose has pine, lavender and some oranges. The taste has burnt oranges and pine. The palate has a medium body, a creamy texture in the middle and a very bitter finish. Overall, good but too bitter.

From a 500ml bottle on 15/7/2012 (ABV listed as 6.5%, best before 2/6/2012). Was a complete gusher but once the suds subsided, it poured a very murky golden orange. Has a slighty fruity, floral aroma. In the mouth, it’s primarily fruity with lots or sweet orange and mandarin with a bit of caramel malt, some boozy notes, and a medium slightly sour hop bitterness. The palate is a bit soapy and the carbonation is quite high, though tolerable in the context of the original gush. Pretty subdued for an IPA. All up, a bit disappointing, but it was consumed after the best before date, so perhaps I should revisit.
