An accessible but full-flavoured golden ale with a hoppy aroma. Its refreshing flavour and crisp bitter aftertaste soon invite for more. Strandgaper is a friendly beer with a strong personality.

9/IV/13 - 33cl bottle from De Hopduvel (Gent) @ home - BB: 12/2014 (2013-317) Thanks to Dimi for sharing the bottle!

Clear pale blond beer, huge creamy whtie head, pretty stable, little adhesive. Aroma: cheesy, coriander, orange peel, overripe banana, something off, can't put my finger on it, but it smells bad. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: grains, orange peel, honey, quite bitter, grassy touch. Aftertaste: bitter, citrus, orange peel, sweet malts, honey, bit watery.

Bottle at Huppel The Pub, Den Haag. Poured a hazy amber colour with a thin white head and a little lace. The aroma is hugely of Belgian yeast. The flavour is yeasty and malty without much else. It’s a nice, tasty beer and hugely satisfying

Slightly hazy golden colour, white head. Aroma of yeast, light citrus, green banana and candy sugar. Quite hoppy flavour, malty and light sweet. Rather light body, light bitter finish.

33 cl. bottle @ home, gift from Hilde. Hazy golden with a big white head. Fruity floral aroma with some lemon. Starts sweet like a typical blonde but then continues with more bitter notes, making the taste deeper and more mature. Nice blonde.

Bottle at Cafe Belgique, Amsterdam. Golden with a tight white head. Light, slightly sweet aroma with a floral edge. Flavour was a bit syrupy, with solid malts and a gently bitter finish. Fine.
