Impenetrabile color mogano con riflessi rubino. Schiuma cappuccino, aderente allo stile, compatta e persistente. Il caffè domina le prime impressioni olfattive, e pur rimanendo il filo conduttore, presto cede il passo ad altre sensazioni aromatiche: liquirizia, cioccolato ed un rinfrescante tocco di Vetyver sul finale. Palato pieno, con un retrolfattivo corrispondente ed un finale alcolico e persistente.

Bottle 330ml.Clear dark red brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, dusty, dark roasted, coffee, hard roasted, dark roasted coffee. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and heavy to moderate bitter with a long duration, roasted bitter, dark roasted, coffee. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120324]

Bottle from Domus Birrae. Aroma of coffee, pepper, light chocolate, berries. Goes more to an overwhelming aroma of coffee grounds, becoming quite unpleasant. Black with a nice lacy head. Flavor is tart berries, chocolate, much less coffee, light funkiness and a Belgian aspect. Ok, but not up to the level of their Belgian styled beers. The use of coffee seems very flawed.

Dark brown color, almost black. The aroma unfortunately reminds me of spent coffee, and spices. Correct body: chocolate and bad coffee flavor; correct bitterness. Controversial.

Bottle @ Miss January / AA Meeting Afterparty Tasting, March 2012. Pours black with a creamy beige head and lacings. Lots of mocha, roast and peppers. Smooth and full bodied. Very drinkable.
