St. Bernardus Tripel is a traditional abbey beer that follows the classic tripel style. In the Watou region a tripel is often referred to as a ‘Bernadetje’. A fine tribute that pays homage to Bernadette, the youngest daughter of Evariste Deconinck, the man to whom the monks of Abbaye Sainte Marie du Mont des Cats sold their Belgian property in 1934. St. Bernardus Tripel is a blonde beer with an inviting golden hue and an impressive, velvety-soft head of froth. EBC 13.

Hazy golden-orange in color with a three-finger head. Aroma is fruity and wheat. Taste is crisp fruit with a very slight sour finish.

Bottle from LCB. Pours a clear gold with lively white foam but settles nicely. Aroma of wheat, banana, some citrus peel and spice. Taste of sweet malts, banana, flora, candied fruits, some spice. Mid to full bodied, soft semi-frothy carbonation which works well. Quite a floral bitter in the finish. Nice although I was expecting there to be more accentuation of flavour considering how highly rated this is.

Lightly hazy golden, big head, high carb. Full bready nose, nice biscuity flavor, lemon hop notes and complex yeasty goodness. Big sweetness perfectly balanced by the bitterness. Excellent Belgian!

Barwa złota, klarowne, piana biała, dość obfita, dość trwała. W aromacie estry, fenole, żółte owoce. W smaku dość wytrawne, estry, fenole, owoce, goździk, przyprawy. Goryczka średnia, wysycenie średnie do wysokiego, ciało lekkie, dobra pijalność, alkohol wyczuwalny, ale w typie szlachetnym. Dobry balans, piwo bez wad i nut spirytusowych. Bardzo dobre.
