Poured from 50cl bottle (from the fiulijnator cellar; side by side with Lune Riserva Teo Musso 2010). Clear-ish dark copper brown with no head. Earthy toffee, feint brown sugar, light vinous notes, a bit thin and slightly oxidized, but still enjoyable. Enjoy this over the Lune overall.

500ml shared by Alex @ Ryan's. Appearance: dark copper with no head. Aroma: heavier than a sister-beer Lune, dark fruits, brown sugar, some oak, caramel. Taste: along the same lines, also flat. Overall: good one.

50cl bottle from a shop in Ravenna, Italy. Pours elegant brown, with beautiful reflections, like a whiskey. No foam. Aroma is intense even from afar, of caramel and molasses, oxidation, dry fruits and figs, dry apricot, bourbon as well. Body is fairly thin, very smooth, with no carbonation at all. Taste is pretty sweet, though not excessive. Final is not particularly intense, actually it's kind of thin (at least for a beer of this caliber). In the final, though, a little bit of a vinous character comes out, providing elegance.

Bottle at home. Has a deep brown colour with no head. Aroma of oak, creme brulee, black currants, tobacco, leather, brown sugar, liqueur and licorice. Flavour of oak, tobacco, creme brulee, liqueur, leather and brown sugar. Warming alcohol in the end. Has an incredibly soft and silky mouth feel, heavy body and no bitterness. A dessert on its own. Sweet and rich. Well-balanced and a solid barley wine. I expected more touch of red wine though.

500 ml corked and waxed bottle in cardboard cylinder, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 12.0%. Hazy very dark reddish brown colour, hardly any head, nor any carbonation in my bottle. I think there was somewhat more carbonation in the bottles opened at the Teo Musso / Cardinal tasting. Strong aroma of oak / red wine barrel and raisins, hints of fusel alcohols that are softened after a while in the glass. In the mouth the beer is completely flat / lifeless. Oaky flavour / dominant red wine barrel, medium sweet. Moderate hops. Will rerate if I get a new bottle with carbonation.
