Boskeun is the nickname of Jo, one of the two brothers who preferred to brew blond beer at home. It is a special Easter beer, one of the first real Belgian Easter beers. (Slaghmuylder's paasbier being first). It has been brewed with pale malt, Golding hops, cane sugar and refermented in the bottle. It's a seasonal beer, so we suggest not to keep it eternally. The name Boskeun means rabbit of the wood (virgin wood, maybe?) and the label shows it, sampling the last brew.

Easter beer and one of the Dolle classics. Brownish orange blonde colour, thick, off-white, rocky head leaving good lacing. Yeasty, grassy, honeyish, hay, apple, banana, spiciness; very fruity onset, orange and pineapple, estery, spicy yeastiness, full malt sweetness, honey touch, warming alcohol and herbal hops in the finish, sourish accent. Complex and robust like the other great Dolle beers. Used to be less strong and sweeter originally but I like the current version just as much.

Bottle @ home, thanks to Lukaduke. Pours a murky dull orange / light brown appearance with a foamy, light brown head. Aroma has a ton of bubblegum, straw / grass, banana, light apple, candy, and some white pepper. Heavy carabonation. Juicy, tropical fruity flavor with tons of bubblegum. Some acidity on the finish but overall pretty dry and herbal finish. Nice grassy hops. The carbonation may even be a bit too high. Nice beer overall.

330 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled in 3/2014. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy bright orange color with a huge 3 finger dense and rocky off white head with incredible retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a large amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of big lemon, apricot, citrus zest, pear, apple, white grape, candi sugar, honey, bread, herbal, straw, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big lemon, apricot, citrus zest, pear, apple, white grape, candi sugar, honey, bread, herbal, straw, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Good amount of earthy bitterness/yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, apricot, citrus zest, pear, apple, white grape, candi sugar, honey, bread, herbal, straw, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity and robustness of fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and pale malt sweetness; with a great crisp malt/yeast balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and slightly slick/prickly mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is an awesome Belgian strong pale ale. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and pale malt sweetness; and extremely smooth to sip on for the big ABV. A highly enjoyable offering.

Draught (flight) @ Fairbar, Aarhus. Pours cloudy amber with small white head. Clear aroma of fruit, flowers and yeast, with notes of malt and hops. Bitter, hoppy flavour, with clear notes of malt and fruit. Vinous and malty aftertaste. Lively carbonation. A good thing.

Slight hazy light golden with medium crisp bubbly white head. Honey, candy, lemondrops, tea, sweet maltiness and some barely ripe grapes. Very sweet, with light tartness and herbal bitter finish. Full bodied with nice carbonation and slightly sticky feel. Quite strange stuff, very sweet, but I really like it.
