Boskeun is the nickname of Jo, one of the two brothers who preferred to brew blond beer at home. It is a special Easter beer, one of the first real Belgian Easter beers. (Slaghmuylder's paasbier being first). It has been brewed with pale malt, Golding hops, cane sugar and refermented in the bottle. It's a seasonal beer, so we suggest not to keep it eternally. The name Boskeun means rabbit of the wood (virgin wood, maybe?) and the label shows it, sampling the last brew.

33 cl. bottle poured in to a Trappist glass. Unclear, bordering muddy dark amber colour with a huge, fluffy off-white head. Sweet aroma with spices, cane sugar, a herbal sweetness from the honey, rich, toasted caramel malts, sweet fruits, light alcohol and yeasty notes. Taste is sweet. Full body, creamy to thick texture and a lively carbonation. Finishes sweet, fruity and herbal-spicy with warming alcohol. Excellent Paasbier from De Dolle.

Keg @ De Dolle Brewery bar, Esen. Pours a light yellow with perfect carbonation and a fresh floral aroma. The taste is pretty incredible, citrus, creamy lemon, sweet malts, candy sugar.. all blended exceptionally well. I could drink this all day long.

Bottle bought some place I can’t remember. Pours golden with a huge frothy offwhite head that slowly dissipates while leaving some soapy trace on the glass. Smell is malty and phenolic with biscuits, cereal, hay, ripe red apples, dark grapes, pepper corns, dark honey, lemon zest, orange zest, caramel and hints of marzipan. Taste is sweet, malty and tiny phenolic with crackers, cereal, caramel, marzipan covered baked pears, apple skins, hay, dry soil, pepper corns, St Johns wort, orange zest, honey and hints of caraway and cinnamon. Mouthfeel is soft, round, silky and near full bodied. Finish is tiny sweet, tiny sour, tiny bitter, fruity, malty and phenolic with bread, cereal, honey, sheet metal, unripe pears, orange zest and St Johns wort. Solid solid stuff...

Wspanialy kolor pomaranczy lekko metny. Owocowo biszkoptowy smak. Finisz przypomina likier owocowo-alkoholowy. Polecam

As all the dolle beers, this one is a bit different from the usual strong Belgian blondes. It has a lively spicyness and some fresh notes of sugar. Nice.

Refrigerated 11.2 oz. brown bottle dated February 2011, poured into a trappist glass. Pours translucent golden with big fluffy white head. Aroma is honey, medium body, well carbonated, and some lacing. Taste is sugar, honey, fruit, some yeast, with some balancing hops. Sweet, complex, good beer.
