Boskeun is the nickname of Jo, one of the two brothers who preferred to brew blond beer at home. It is a special Easter beer, one of the first real Belgian Easter beers. (Slaghmuylder's paasbier being first). It has been brewed with pale malt, Golding hops, cane sugar and refermented in the bottle. It's a seasonal beer, so we suggest not to keep it eternally. The name Boskeun means rabbit of the wood (virgin wood, maybe?) and the label shows it, sampling the last brew.

Bottle (from etre gourmet). Pours golden with whiteish head. Aroma is sweet, fruits, citrus, spices. Flavor is sweet and bitter, citrus, spices, orange, lemon. Finish is citric bitter with some alcohol. Overall: great.

Bottle kindly shared by O. Hazy golden with small, white head. Aroma and taste of hay, honey, bread, dough, spice and yeast. Somewhat sharp boozy finish.

Bottle. Trembling Madness, York. Hazy, lumpy gold. Thick, bubbly, shiny topped, lasting, white head. Nose has overripe banana. Sweet, chewy, stone fruit. Dried date, fig and such. Brown sugar. Never a hint of 10%, though. Taste is floral, honeyed sweet. Some phenolic booziness. Smooth, and rich mouthfeel. Honey sweet finish, with a much appreciated, bitter close. Could verge on too sweet, but there’s a grassy bitterness that balances things nicely.

On tap at PIB 2016, pours a hazy golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out Belgian yeast and light cardboard. Flavour brings out loads of Belgian yeast upfront, some light caramel and booze. Tastes much better than it smells. Yeasty, fairly sweet and moderately complex. Very nice.

Bottle at Appellation Wines tasting. Hazy golden body with a thin white head. Faint lacing. Aroma of orange pith, spice and marmalade. Flavour of red apple and a hint of vinegar - unusual but not unpleasant. Medium body with an oily mouthfeel. Lively fizz. Not the easiest to drink.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl, I think. Appearance - cloudy golden amber. Thin head. Nose - orange into marmalade. Like a barley wine. Taste - brown sugar and marmalade again. Palate - mediumto full bodied with a tangy texture and a long dry tangy finish. Overall - good beer.

Rerate a fresh bottle, thanks to Tad. Up 1 on palate and overall. Bottle at Comely Bankers III. Pours hazy gold with a thin white head. Aromas of light almonds, hot alcohol. Taste is boozy sugar, sweet finish.

0.33 l bottle from ’De Bierkoning’, 2016 version (website says 9% abv, no information on the label), best before February 2017. Clear, golden yellow with a ridiculously large, very dense, stable, white to tan head. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity aroma of dried apricot, clove, Belgian candy, banana and some grassy hops. Sweet, malty and slightly fruity taste of dried apricot, banana, clove, Belgian candy and some yeast, followed by a medium long, slightly bitter, moderately yeasty-spicy finish. Medium to full body, effervescent mouthfeel, average to lively carbonation. Classic, sweet and satisfying, balanced by a solidly hopped finish, but the carbonation is too high. Very nice though!

Tap @Ma Che Siete Venuti A Fa, Roma. Hazy orange, thick white head. Yeasty aroma, fruity with hints of anise. Yeasty, slightly spicy flavour. Some sweet malt. Fluffy and creamy. Ok.
