The Lantern is a bit of a metaphor for the fragile and sacred fire that we preserve to advance into the unknown. Beyond beer as a product of conviviality and pleasure, it is also the Lantern which will guide us in the first steps of nanobrewery. This dry and light IPA gives pride of place to American hops to develop a refreshing bitterness and a beautiful aromatic palette. Till 2017 brewed at Brasserie de Bastogne (Minne).

20/08/2016 @home - 33cl bottle from Malt Attacks, Brussels. Clear golden colour with huge, rocky white head. Nose is bitter hops and lots of fruits, sweetness. Taste has some citrus, pineapple, bitter hops and surprisingly the sweetness in the nose doesn’t come out in the taste. Nice carbo, enjoyable bitter ending.

330 ml. bottle shared. Very hazy citrus, bit milky, paler citrus, big creamy white head. Nose is some milky yeast with lemongrass hops, mellow hops, faint artificial citrus hops, milky yeast. Body & taste are high carbonation, some milky yeast, bit thinned out, mild floral hops, almost touch lactic lemongrass hops, artificial lemon hops, lightly milky, touch mineral. Not bad for what it is a bit too fizzy & milky, easy going, lemongrass profile is not bad. Decent but not stellar, not very classical within the IPA genre.

Draft @ Barborteur Beerdays #1, 14.5.2016.
