Golden naked oats mashed with dark crystal and robust roasted malts create a luscious black brew with a satin smooth finish. Layering UK Target hops in the boil adds a pleasant, earthy complexity while higher fermentation temperatures enhance the overall flavor with fruity esters. An old-world style, done the Green Flash way. Big, bold, flavorful and complex – Double Stout.

Tap at the Khyber Pass, Philly - 26/05/12. Rich black with a mocha head. Big roasted malt nose, coffee, chocolate, leather, licqourice. Taste follows aroma with a touch of hops. Medium bodied and carbonation. Decent stout but lacking wow factor!

Aroma - plain chocolate, smooth good quality mellow coffee, mainly dark smooth chocolate malts, mellow rich dark roasted malts, gorgeous aroma
Taste as aroma, so smooth. not very complex though, just great tasting mellow sweet rich chocolate malts, dark sweet roast malts, undercurrant of mocha coffee, alcohol very well hidden
Palate - soft carb, full body. Finish as main flavour, smooth and silky.
Overall - It’s not complex but wonderfully crafted and smooth at what it does - awesome stout

Pours pitch black with a large, lasting dark tan head.Nose shows rich, complex roasted malt. Chocolate, coffee grounds, liquourice. Also some restrained piny and spicy hops. Tempting.Similar flavours; dark chocolate, cocoa, liqourice, soft booze. Quite easy drinking for a imperial stout.Nice creamy feel to the body, with well-suited low carbonation.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured black and oily with a huge soapy-creamy dark brown head that lingered and left very good lacing. The aroma was cocoa, coffee, anise, vanilla and light floral hops. The flavor was sweet toasty malts, cocoa, vanilla, coffee and light vague fruity and floral hops. Medium length finish with toasty malts, cocoa and hops lingering. Thick, creamy and smooth. Well done.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a large brown color head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of roasted malt with light fruity overtones and some residual sugar is quite pleasant. Taste is also a solid mix between some roasted malt with some black chocolate notes and some light fruity ester. Body is quite full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Well brewed with solid malt backbone and not overly dry; in fact coffee-like notes are quite subtle.

Bottle thx to benzai @ joes. Pitch black, opaque colour with a nice light brown/mocca head. Smells malty, salty, some coffee and dark chocolate. Tastes roasty, coffee, more chocolate then you would expect. Slightly oily, creamy, soft, lovely, silky. Medium to full body, low carbo.
